Many of you may know that we are big fans of Celtic music here at Homegrown Music, and keen attenders and volunteers at the National Celtic Festival every year in Portarlington. Pictured above are the gorgeous dancers from the Bilton Academy of Irish Dance - achieving liftoff!
We can often be found on the weekends listening to Thistle Radio on Soma FM, which DJ Christopher stumbled upon while pootling around on the computer as he is wont to do. Great for kitchen dancing with the kids, and Celtic tunes are exactly the kind of music that is taught person to person, parent to child, by ear, at home or at a community session. If you'd like to learn this kind of music you should get along to Cathy Blake's Slow Session on Monday nights at Irish Murphy's Geelong.
Anyhoo, included in our modest collection of CD's from Putumayo World Music and Putumayo Kids is this fantastic CD, Celtic Cafe, which you can buy online and have delivered free in Australia. Have a listen, and if you'd like to order one, head to the shop!
